Lights out and film on at LUCAS #45: From October 6 to 13, Germany\u2019s oldest film fes\u00adti\u00adval for young audi\u00aden\u00adces pres\u00adents award-win\u00adning cine\u00adma\u00adtic art for ever\u00adyo\u00adne from four years old to 18plus. <\/span>Families and film lovers of all ages can expect out\u00adstan\u00adding cine\u00adma expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces in Frankfurt, Offenbach, and Wiesbaden. School clas\u00adses, child\u00adren\u2019s and youth groups in Germany can also access the short films of the com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon pro\u00adgram via video-on-demand.<\/span><\/p>\n

21 careful\u00adly cura\u00adted fea\u00adture films and a sel\u00adec\u00adtion of short films (all of them German pre\u00admie\u00adres) will com\u00adpe\u00adte for the cove\u00adted LUCAS awards. In addi\u00adti\u00adon to the com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon pro\u00adgram, LUCAS pres\u00adents clas\u00adsics of film histo\u00adry, short film pro\u00adgrams for the very youn\u00adgest and other series, some of which are crea\u00adted by child\u00adren and young adults. During the fes\u00adti\u00adval week, a spe\u00adcial focus is on film talks, in which film\u00adma\u00adkers from all over the world enter into dia\u00adlo\u00adgue with the audience.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Participation at LUCAS means \u201cGet invol\u00adved!\u201d. As mode\u00adra\u00adtors, fes\u00adti\u00adval repor\u00adters, film cri\u00adtics, jury mem\u00adbers, or cura\u00adtors \u2013 young film fans are invi\u00adted to par\u00adti\u00adci\u00adpa\u00adte in a varie\u00adty of ways throug\u00adhout the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

For repre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adti\u00adves of the film indus\u00adtry, con\u00adfe\u00adren\u00adces and panel dis\u00adcus\u00adsions take place that deal with topics of film edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon and cur\u00adrent trends in children\u2019s and youth film production.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon sec\u00adtions 8+, 13+ and 16+ | Youngsters<\/strong>, LUCAS pres\u00adents a sel\u00adec\u00adtion of out\u00adstan\u00adding inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal fea\u00adture films, docu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adries, ani\u00adma\u00adti\u00adons, and expe\u00adri\u00admen\u00adtal films. A total of 21 fea\u00adture-length films and a sel\u00adec\u00adtion of short films com\u00adpe\u00adte for the cove\u00adted LUCAS awards.<\/p>\n

The fea\u00adture films have a run\u00adning time of more than 59 minu\u00adtes and have not yet been shown in German cine\u00admas. A sel\u00adec\u00adtion com\u00admit\u00adtee<\/a><\/span> tra\u00advels to fes\u00adti\u00advals and indus\u00adtry mee\u00adtings to sel\u00adect com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon ent\u00adries for the sec\u00adtions 8+, 13+, and 16+ | Youngsters from the stron\u00adgest cur\u00adrent pro\u00adduc\u00adtions world\u00adwi\u00adde. It\u2019s not pre\u00admie\u00adre sta\u00adtus, but qua\u00adli\u00adty that counts!<\/p>\n

With its short film com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon, LUCAS has ear\u00adned its\u00adelf a spe\u00adcial repu\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon in recent years. From the best inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal sub\u00admis\u00adsi\u00adons of up to 30 minu\u00adtes run\u00adning time, a sel\u00adec\u00adtion com\u00admit\u00adtee<\/a><\/span> puts tog\u00ade\u00adther seve\u00adral com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon pro\u00adgrams for the 8+ and 13+ sec\u00adtions, all of which are German premieres.<\/p>\n
