HessenFilm und Medien presents as part of the series film.macht.vielfalt:
NARRATING FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES – PERSEPECTIVES FOR MORE PARTICIPATION & EMPOWERMENT
Humans think in simplifying generalizations, which we colloquially refer to as “pigeonholes” in everyday life. These thought patterns, which have been consolidated over thousands of years, were essential for the survival of our ancestors and are therefore with us right up to the present day. Categorizing thinking is deeply rooted in us and is reflected in all areas of life — including film. In our globalized world, however, this leads to strong simplifications that shorten reality and only inadequately represent the diversity of our society. But how do we tell stories without stereotypes? How do filmmakers break out of familiar schemes and thereby enrich the cinematic landscape?
Invited are:
Sebastian Markt (section manager Berlinale Generation from autumn 2022) | Tajo Hurrle (Director, Screenwriter) | Su Turhan (Director, Screenwriter) | Sara Günter (Format developer FUNK)
Moderation:
Fatma Idris
The conversation is in German, but will be translated live into English in the cinema and online.
